Drive SamplingBlake Geoservices Ltd can offer drive sampling and borehole installation with our own Boart Longyear DB051 rig. This rig offers fantastic value for the client; with favourable ground conditions up to 25m can be sunk in one standard eight hour day. The rig has the facility to retrieve one metre lengths of soil profiles in clear plastic core liners reducing the possibility of cross contamination between boreholes. The hole can be cased if required in loosely consolidated soils, and the windowless sampler can be changed down in diameter to aid further penetration at depth. The rig has the facility to carry out standard penetration testing, as well as dynamic probing. All in-situ testing will be carried out in accordance with the methods outlined in BS1377.
![]() All drive sampling carried out by Blake Geoservices Ltd will be supervised by a qualified engineering geologist, with soil profiles logged on site. Borehole progression and installation will be conducted with contamination issues in mind, and these will be recorded on the daily logs to maximise communication of such issues. Contracts are tailored to suit the requirements of the client, and can include a ground suitability item, offering a fixed price mobilisation of the rig to site to confirm the suitability of the drilling conditions with the drive sampling rig. Blake Geoservices Ltd can offer a variety of installation options, and can tailor the re-instatement and installations to suit the requirements of the client. Only high quality materials will be used for installations resulting in increased lifespan of any borehole. Analytical testing, geotechnical testing or refrigerated storage can be arranged for any samples taken during drilling. Blake Geoservices Ltd can also carry out borehole development, gas monitoring, groundwater monitoring or groundwater sampling as and when the client requires it, as well as hydrogeological tests if required. All operators will currently hold CSCS and SVQ qualifications, or will be working towards achieving them. A PTS trained operator is also available for work on or near railway lines in accordance with network rail regulations. |
